Who we are
Carina is made by Mojave Labs LLC. Questions? Email hello@carina.md.
The Carina app
- Your notes stay on your Mac, in a local database. You can export them to Markdown anytime.
- There is no analytics and no crash reporting. Search runs on your Mac.
- The app checks for updates. That check sends the app version and your Mac's chip type (for example, Apple silicon or Intel). It sends nothing from your notes.
This website (carina.md)
- If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the time you signed up, and the referring page and campaign tags, if there were any. These are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database.
- To limit abuse, the signup form keeps a salted hash of your IP address, which is a scrambled version rather than the address itself. It's used only to rate-limit requests and is kept for up to 30 days.
- We use your email address only to tell you about the Carina beta. You can ask to be removed anytime by emailing hello@carina.md. Removal deletes your email and everything stored with it: signup time, referrer and campaign tags. Rate-limit records aren't linked to your email and are deleted automatically within 30 days.
- Deleted data can remain in Cloudflare's database backups for up to 30 days.
- The site has no analytics and no tracking scripts. It's hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests to serve the site.
- We don't sell or share your email.
